What steers the storm (why it should move the way it does): Computer forecasts show a large zone of high pressure building to the north of the depression. High pressure acts like a “push” that tends to guide storms along its southern edge. With that high pressure to the north, the storm is expected to keep moving mostly west to west-northwest for the next several days. Late this weekend into early next week, that push from the north is expected to weaken a bit, which would allow a small turn more toward the west-northwest.
